Segais Hair Design, now entering its 15th year of trading, has grown from its early days in a tiny unit on Newbury Street in Wantage, to a thriving business with 4 salons located across Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.
Segais Hair Design purchased it's new premises on Grove Street in October 2002 and the flagship salon opened its doors in April 2003. Creating the new image for Segais took 6 months of building and decorating, a constant battle to preserve and maintain the features of its Victorian era, while meetings the needs and look of a progressive salon in the 21st centaury.
The reception area and large retail shop details come from the few remaining original panels of the once two downstairs reception rooms of this grand house.
The various floors are split between hair design & beauty therapy. All the rooms are individually decorated with colours that harmonise the new with the old, generating an overall feeling of relaxation. Segais Wantage offers clients 3 distinct salons, from the busy ground floor modern salon to the luxurious first floor Panelled Room, providing clients with a quieter more relaxed atmosphere, complete with a Massage Chair to ease away the stresses of daily life whilst enjoying a cleansing Shaitsu Head Massage. Segais exudes the freshness and freedom that comes from the high corniced ceilings, captured in colours of sky blue and pea green, chosen to harmonise in a modern way with the heritage of the refurbished 3 story grade 2 listed Victorian building, which houses the progressive team of Segais.
The property has been significantly extended to the rear providing a ground floor extension, a modern contrast to the elegance of the Victorian house. This new salon area provides a further 12 stations, with a large sky light and extensive glass wall overlooking the remains of the walled Victorian garden.
Segais was further expanded with the opening of it Didcot Salon in November 2005. On the 25th October 2010 Segais Didcot was relocated to much larger premises, providing clients with a more relaxed and comfortable salon, offering a seperate Senior Stylist room complete with massage chairs, to help ease the stresses of daily life whilst having their hair cleansed & enjoying an amazing Shiatsu head massage. Segais Didcot was completed by the opening of its Beauty room in May 2011.
2006 saw the opening of Segais in Faringdon and Marlborough, providing both hair & beauty services.

Garra Ruffa Fish Spa
Unusual, effective and now available at our salons in Wantage & Didcot.
Have a great time relaxing and enjoying this new experience, a real tasty treat for your feet!
Garra rufa are about 3-4 centimeters long and have no teeth. They feed on dead skin, removing dead skin cells and leaving healthy skin alone. There is no pain, instead you may feel a nibbling or tickling sensation when the fish feed.
Fish therapy claims that in addition to removing dead skin cells, the fish also provide a micro-massage as they nibble, which may improve blood circulation.
We have a number of tanks so bring a friend if you like. You will be asked to fill out a medical questionnaire, and provided you have nothing contagious or any cuts or open wounds you will be able to have the treatment. We wipe over the feet to remove any lotions (it is best not to have applied fake tan or fresh nail polish in the last 24 hours, these can be toxic to the fish). Then place your feet in to your own tank for 15 to 30 minutes.
Our tanks have a state of the art UV filtration system that filters the whole tank every 8 minutes and kills bacteria, so it's completely safe.
